YOU might not want to read it, but you probably should: a book about trans fats – which remain part of much of the food we eat despite a clinical study concluding that it only takes consuming two grams per day for a person to increase the risk of developing heart disease by 23 per cent.
The author is Edinburgh-based Maggie Stanfield, who – along with former Scottish Sun political editor, Andy Collier – runs media consultancy, Written Words.
Stanfield is also the author of The Hibernation Diet, published last year. Her new book, Trans Fats: The Time Bomb in Your Food, is out a week tomorrow.
