AN account director with one of Scotland’s leading PR agencies is joining the organisation charged with overseeing the UK-wide switchover of the TV signal from analogue to digital.
John MacNeil is departing Weber Shandwick for Digital UK, the not-for-profit body set up by the public service broadcasters to oversee the UK’s switch from analogue to digital TV.
This starts in the Scottish Borders on November 6 this year, with south-west Scotland going digital in the second quarter of next year. He is going to be involved in a community communication campaign.
It’s then the turn of stv North in 2010 and stv Central in 2010/11. The UK’s switchover of digital will be complete in 2012.
His replacement is Stephanie Robertson, who has worked in both journalism – as a broadcast journalist for the BBC – and PR, for Beattie Media, Scottish Enterprise Tayside and the University of St Andrews.
