THE Daily Record has escaped censure from the Press Complaints Commission, which declined to uphold any of various complaints made against the newspaper, including one of alleged harassment.
One complaint was dismissed on both privacy and reporting-of-children grounds, ie clauses three and six of the PCC’s Code of Practice.
Neither was a further complaint – under clause four (harassment) – upheld.
On a complaint about accuracy (clause one), the PCC considered that the newspaper’s offer to publish something further, setting out the complainants’ position, was a proportionate remedy to any breach of the code.
