THE communications team at a NHS group has learned it has been shortlisted, for the third year in a row, for the Scottish Public Sector Team of the Year prize in a Scottish public relations competition.
Lothian NHS last year won Scottish Public Sector Team of the Year at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (Scotland) PRide Awards.
Though the shortlist for this year’s awards has yet to be fully announced, NHS Lothian have also been informed that Connections, its staff newspaper, and its new internet site have both been shortlisted in their categories.
Said Jenifer Stirton, director of Communications: “Within our small team we have experts in branding, media management, internal communications, internet and intranet technologies, marketing, public affairs and aspects of science and we have been able to bring all these skills together to use a number of media strategies to inform and engage a number of audiences.
“I am particularly delighted that the efforts of our in-house web developers has been recognised by the judges. Everyone worked really hard to develop a NHS Lothian web presence – with a fraction of the budget private companies might have – which is really proving effective as a communications channel and attracting lots of traffic.”
The full PRide Awards shortlist is expected a week on Friday. The awards ceremony is on November 16.
