THE Sunday Post newspaper asked rhetorically, at the weekend, what happens to MSPs when the electorate decides they’re no longer wanted in Parliament, only to then suggest that one prominent and very high-profile member, who served eight years at Holyrood, has had the ‘brass neck’ to apply to a newspaper for a job as its political editor.
But Allan Rennie, editor of the Sunday Mail, has dismissed speculation the applicant might be Tommy Sheridan, saying no application has been received by him.
A decision on who replaces the Sunday Mail’s current political editor, Brian Lironi – who’s off to work for the Scottish Labour Party – is not expected for at least a week or two.
