HOLLICOM, the Glasgow-based strategic communications and PR consultancy, has today announced seven appointments, to support investment in new services and maximise business development opportunities.
The agency, led by CEO and founder, Mark Hollinshead, has secured a number of new client wins supported by a strong bounce-back across other sectors.
He said: “The way ahead for us is to invest in talent.”
The recruitment drive sees environmental campaigner, writer and broadcaster Heather Suttie (pictured) join the team as creative director
Heather is a former commercial content lead at Reach Plc, delivering campaigns for RBS, Worldwide Cancer Research, Aldi and the Scottish Government.
A passionate environmentalist, her ‘Say No to Plastic’ campaign in 2007 gained worldwide recognition, changed the behaviour of numerous multi-national retailers and was instrumental in the introduction of the 5p plastic bag charge in Scotland.
This year, Heather spearheaded a global campaign highlighting the damaging effects of pollution caused by single use plastic contact lenses.
She said: “I’m delighted to be joining Hollicom at a such a pivotal point in the development of the business. The team’s focus on strategy, creativity and customer service means we are ideally placed to help businesses navigate their way out of the uniquely challenging environment we find ourselves in.”
Katie Palmer joined Hollicom as senior account manager, from STV, where she worked as a features writer and social media producer, before joining their in-house marketing agency. She successfully led key campaigns, producing on-air promos, cinema trailers, radio and outdoor advertising.
Other recent signings include Jordan Agnew, a former communications advisor at the Westminster parliament, who supports business clients on PR strategy, public affairs and stakeholder engagement.
Sarah Hamad El Niel joins Hollicom after three years working with global agency Edelman PR in her native Dubai. Sarah will drive the PR strategy for Hollicom’s clients targeting the Middle East, China and USA markets.
The agency has also strengthened its social media unit with the appointments of Siannon McLeod as social media creative lead; Becca Smith as account manager and Jack Mercer as social media content executive.
Mark Hollinshead, who founded Hollicom in 2017, said: “The last seven months have been challenging and scary, to say the least. At the start of the pandemic, it felt like we were trying to sprint in quicksand. Like all businesses, during the last few months, we’ve had to adapt our offering and support clients as they strived to do the same.
“The way ahead for us is to invest in talent. With our recent appointments we’re doing just that. We’re also launching an in-house photographic, videography and design unit as content creation is at the heart of what we do.”
