THE two prizes at arguably Scotland’s most prestigious short film competition have gone to the one entry.
Zam Salim’s ‘Laid Off’ has taken both the judges’ and the audience awards at the Jim Poole Short Film Awards, with one of the judges saying of it: “Easily the best all-round film for me; powerful, thought-provoking concept, strong casting and performance, and rigorous execution. What a good short should be.”
Laid Off was one of 79 entries in this year’s competition, which was set up eight years ago.
