AS reported over the weekend, radio station, XFM Scotland, is losing breakfast show host presenter, Dominik Diamond, just weeks after re-launching its daytime line-up.
The former presenter of Channel 4 programme, Gamemaster, has been with the station since it re-launched last year out of the ashes of Beat 106.
The news will be a blow for the GCap station which has introduced a listening selections service – like a jukebox – thus skirting the need for a DJ.
There is no news on Diamond’s plans but while at XFM, his breakfast crew cohorts, Marisa de Andrade and Scott Shaw, joined him in a band called ‘The AMs’. After touring recently, they released a single ‘Billy the Dancer’ which has yet to penetrate the Top 40.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh all-speech radio station, talk107, is losing its senior news reporter, Catherine Brown, to the BBC. Brown, who won plaudits for the station’s Scottish election coverage, has been lured to take over the Beeb’s news beat in Tayside and Central Scotland.
