FROM Thursday, a “modern and vibrant new design” is being promised for a free weekly newspaper produced from the publishers of The Scotsman newspaper.
The Edinburgh Herald & Post is to be “freshened up to ensure that it engages more closely with readers”, with a similar makeover scheduled for sister title, West Lothian Herald & Post.
Says Gail Milne, Herald & Post series editor: “The Herald & Post name needs no introduction in the city – it has a huge, loyal following of both local trade advertisers and readers.
“The refreshed look is sharper, more modern and therefore appealing to younger readers. There is more ‘bite-size’ news included which is also a desirable feature for busy family households.
“I was particularly keen to involve and include our readers in stories as much as possible, and to that end have introduced a ‘sound off’ platform to reflect local opinion on particular issues.”
