AN increase in production resources at The Daily Telegraph’s Scottish operation has not only made it possible to cover the forthcoming Scottish parliamentary elections in some depth, it is expected to provide more space for local sport.
Although it is not certain to what extent the increased presence of Scottish stories, including on the front page, will be accompanied by a specific marketing campaign, the reality is that the paper appears to be gearing itself up to carry more Scottish content.
Last week, it is understood a new sub-editor was appointed to handle more Scottish sports copy, including from football correspondent, Roddy Forsyth.
The paper is soon to be up against a revamped Scottish edition of The Times, expected to launch in the summer.
