A GLASGOW-based journalist has received the highest honour the National Union of Journalists can bestow.
Ann Coltart was made a Member of Honour at the NUJ’s annual conference at the weekend. She was one of only two recipients at the event, held in Birmingham and doubling up as a celebration of the NUJ’s 100th birthday.
The other recipient was former general-secretary, John Foster.
Meanwhile, also at the conference, the chair of the Scottish Executive Council was elected unopposed into the post of NUJ vice-president.
James Doherty, who works for Glasgow City’s PR department, is a former reporter with The Scotsman newspaper and Big Issue Scotland.
