THE subject of identity is close to many a teenager’s heart and Channel 4 is looking for documentary ideas on it, from young people aged 13-18.
In partnership with the children’s charity, NSPCC, Channel 4 has launched RAW CUTS: ID, calling for story ideas that “define 13-to-18 year-olds as an individual, asking questions like: Who are you? What do you do? How do you fit into the world?, and What world do you fit into?”
Adds Channel 4: “RAW CUTS: ID is not looking to come up with the next big Hollywood blockbuster – just a snapshot of young people’s identity in words (between 350 and 500), and those selected will be invited to work with Channel 4 to make their identity come alive for the screen for broadcast in a primetime slot on Channel 4 later on in the year.”
It continues: “RAW CUTS: ID is a fantastic opportunity for young people to express themselves and potentially launch a dream – or even a career – as a writer/filmmaker. They will have the opportunity to see first hand how the filmmaking process works – from concept to completion – and work with talented industry professionals along the way.”
