AS you will have no doubt read elsewhere yesterday, the Scottish creative director of RDF Media, is reported to have resigned from his post, to become content director of SMG Television.
Alan Clements, husband of BBC Newsnight presenter, Kirsty Wark, was with RDF after the company he was a part-owner of – Scottish indie, IWC Media – had been bought by them.
A report in yesterday’s MediaGuardian (here) had RDF strongly condemning Clement’s decision.
However, it wasn’t clear yesterday to what extent Clement’s contract with RDF will require SMG TV to pay compensation or, similarly, to what extent Clement will have to forfeit his part of the IWC sale price.
P.S. Subsequent to the above being filed, RDF issued the following statement:
“RDF Media Group plc (‘RDF’) can confirm Alan Clements, creative director, IWC Media (part of RDF) has resigned his position. He has a six-month notice period and consequently his contract will terminate on 29th September 2007.”
