BBC Scotland was among the winners at this year’s Celtic Media Festival, its Gaelic service, Radio Nan Gaidheal, picking up the Radio Station of the Year award at the festival, which culminated on Friday evening.
The event – held on the Isle of Skye and formerly known as the Celtic Film and TV Festival – also saw Radio Nan Gaidheal’s Mary Anne Kennedy, who presents music shows, take the Radio Personality title.
This was the 28th Celtic Media Awards and was attended by programme makers and broadcast executives from Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Cornwall and Brittany.
At a gala dinner in the island’s capital, Portree, on Friday, it was to prove a particularly good evening for Brittany, which took two of three prizes up for grabs.
Of the three – the Jury award, the Frank Copplestone (for first-time directors) award and the Spirit of the Festival award – it took the first and third.
