THAT’S the burning question being asked by Marc Jones, general manager at La Bonne Auberge brasserie in Glasgow, at the moment; however, he’s not referring to spectacles – rather 84 bespoke gin glasses.
The specially-commissioned, La Bonne Auberge-branded 500ml gin glasses were introduced before Christmas when the brasserie launched its expanded gin menu. However, now, the bar staff can only find 16, and have been left wondering if customers might have taken a liking to them over the festive period.
Replacement glasses have been ordered but won’t arrive until February, so the Glasgow brasserie has launched a ‘January Gin Glass Amnesty’ in the hope that some of the 84 missing glasses might re-appear.
Marc Jones of La Bonne Auberge explains: “It seems that, as well as our gin selection, the glasses have proved just as appealing! With January shaping up to be a very busy month for us, we are keen to continue pouring the perfect drink into the perfect glass. So, if anyone wants to bring back our distinctive gin vessels, we’d love to be reunited with them – no questions asked!”
