STAFF arriving at BBC Scotland’s Glasgow HQ yesterday morning were said to be slightly puzzled to see new head of news, Atholl Duncan, walking away from the building with a black bin liner in hand.
Coming just 24 hours after Duncan had been profiled in the Sunday Herald, some mused on whether the news piece had not gone down too well with his new bosses.
Fortunately for his newsroom colleagues, however, he was able to put their minds at rest that they hadn’t lost a second head within a few months.
It’s understood that, inside the black bin liner, weren’t the contents of his shiny new desk, but a collection of rather natty shirts which were being taken to a nearby dry cleaners.
Clearly not a man to wash his dirty linen in public…
