A MOBILE telephone version of the hugely popular Channel 4 show, Countdown, has been developed, and is to be distributed, by a Dundee-based New Media company.
The game, like its TV counterpart, requires players to form – within 30 seconds – the longest possible words from collections of vowels and consonants, as well as create specific sums from strings of random numbers.
And Dynamo Games has struck a deal with Granada Ventures, the licensor of Countdown, to develop the game for use on mobile telephones and to distribute it – so far, in the UK and Ireland only.
“Countdown is far more than a game show,” says Brian McNicoll, the managing director of Dynamo Games.
