AFTER breaking the news, towards the end of last year, that the future of the Edinburgh Press Club was habging in the balance, we then failed to report the extraordinary general meeting that was to decide its fate. Our apologies.
The EGM took place on Sunday evening and, as expected, members decided to shut the club down.
After 68 years, the club could barely boast any members of the press, nor the media in general.
Its Rutland Street premises will be sold and, after debts are paid, the proceeds will be divided among members, understood to number around 200.
