THERE were nine world premieres at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival, according to its annual review, just published.
It is just one of many facts from the festival, which screened 114 feature films, some 72 of which were UK premieres.
In total, there were also 173 short film premieres, 337 public screenings and 145 industry ones.
Some 636 industry delegates attended the festival, as did 419 accredited journalists. Reflecting, perhaps, its slightly extended run, the festival attracted 58,161 admissions – up four per cent on the previous year.
The festival was run by 236 staff, of whom 133 were volunteers.
