THE more retro sounds of radio station, 1152 Clyde 2, is to be home for arguably sister station, 102.5 Clyde 1’s most legendary figure.
From January 12, ‘Tiger’ Tim Stevens – recently honoured with an MBE, for his services to broadcasting and charity – will be presenting a new show, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, from 6-8pm.
But he brings the best part of 30 years of broadcasting on Clyde 1 to a close this evening, and, in his honour, the station is to air a tribute show compiled by musician, Midge Ure.
Expect to hear kind words from various celebrities.
Says ‘Tiger’ of his move to Clyde 2: “It’s been an absolutely incredible few weeks for me and I’m really looking forward to the new show and joining some of my pals like Dean Park and Andy Cameron on Clyde 2. I love the variety of music on the station and my show will allow me to play a few more of my favourite artists like Rod Stewart, Simple Minds, The Beatles and David Bowie.”
Adds Radio Clyde boss, Paul Cooney: “He’s the best in the business and we’re incredibly proud of his achievements. Clyde 2 listeners have grown up with the Tiger and share his passion for great music. He’s made a massive and unique contribution to Clyde 1 and we wish him good luck when his adventures continue on Clyde 2.”
