THE website, GlasgowLive.co.uk, has firmly established itself as the city’s favourite source of local news and entertainment as readers flock to the site in record numbers.

The website celebrates its second birthday in April but it has already become a firm favourite with those who live and work in the city.

Staffed by a team of locals, the website has achieved new highs with more than 1.65m monthly visitors enjoying its mix of local news and entertainment.

GlasgowLive.co.uk has cemented itself as the go-to website for vital up-to-date news that affects everyone in the city as the recent bad weather and travel disruptions produced new audience records.

It’s not all bad news, of course, and the website is also an authority on what’s on, where to eat and what not to miss in Scotland’s biggest city.

The Glasgow Live community is active on Facebook with over 150,000 people enjoying and discussing the website’s content, growing numbers subscribing to the daily newsletter and a free quarterly magazine distributed to key locations throughout Glasgow.

Gregor Kyle, editor, said: “The results are down to the small and incredibly hard-working team of talented reporters [pictured at Christmas] on Glasgow Live who take real pride in their work, their website and their city.

“I also have to thank our readers, who visit our website, support our work, encourage us and occasionally rein us in. We write for them and they are the best gauge of what people expect from Glasgow Live.

“We strive to remain true to the city, to write in a voice people can relate to and most importantly, give them the information they need. We set out with the aim of being a positive voice in Glasgow and it’s amazing to see how people have embraced that.

“It has taken just two years for us to become the trusted, primary news source in the city and with our readership and social media feeds growing every month, Glasgow Live is going from strength to strength.”
