SAILING’S Team Maverick and clothing manufacturer, Zhik, have announced a joint partnership deal, which will name, Zhik, as Team Maverick’s official technical apparel supplier at the 2018 RORC Caribbean 600 this weekend.
The sponsorship was arranged by Gordon Ritchie of GRM sport sponsorship, based in Glasgow, who said: “This is all part of the team’s long-term goal in developing partnerships with business and organisations who share the strategic vision to create a GREAT Britain-winning yacht racing formula.”
Zhik’s dedication to innovation in performance sailing gear provides the perfect synergy with Team Maverick’s technical engineering and radical approach to yacht racing.
The partnership has been deemed a perfect fit with Zhik’s innovative approach to sailing apparel aptly fitting the Maverick ethos of shaking things up and challenging the norm, as the team hit the global racing circuit with their radical Dynamic Stability System (DSS) foils, never before used on a 46 ft. mono-hull of their size.
Adds Ritchie: “Zhik was founded before the Athens Olympics, following the observation that the sailing apparel market might benefit from a spark of innovation, to create technically-proficient gear to help athletes win gold.
