A LEADING international reservoir engineering and business management consultancy has made two senior management appointments to strengthen its services across the globe.
Oilgen, which provides technical and business management services using its core historical expertise in reservoir engineering, has secured the services of Bruce Blanche and Richard Bunt.
Mr Blanche and Mr Bunt, who are both highly experienced professionals, will be joining the Oilgen team to offer their expertise as independent consultants.
Oilgen has long term working relationships with key clients, assisting with reservoir development plans,reserves and acquisition and divestment.
Over the years, the specialist firm has participated in world-class petroleum projects as well as smaller operations for leading names in the oil and gas industry, as well as independent producers and investors.
Oilgen managing director, Laurent Schirrer met Mr Blanche and Mr Bunt when they worked together at Melrose Resources in Edinburgh, now known as Petroceltic.
During their time at the company, the trio spent time discovering and developing large gasfields in Egypt, and making the first ever oil discovery in the Nile Delta.
Mr Blanche is an experienced international oil and gas geoscientist with over 44 years experience as a petroleum geologist in a wide range of functions covering exploration, new ventures / business development, acquisitions, assessments, evaluation, project management and competitor intelligence analysis.
He is also an honorary Professor at the Institute of Petroleum Engineering’s School of Energy at the Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh.
A former chair of Melrose Resources in Egypt, he chairs the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa scout group which meets in London.
Mr Bunt has 35 years oil industry experience with operating companies and consulting service companies in UK,Australia and Europe, and is the former geoscience manager of Melrose.
His technical specialty is geophysical interpretation, and he is currently involved in major discoveries made by a UK company working offshore in South America, and is also working with Oilgen on a Paris Basin redevelopment project.
