BEGINS the website, CommonSpace: “Scottish new media platform, NewsShaft, is set to close in mid-October – due to financial shortcomings, it has been announced.
“The news and politics podcast platform has been struggling to raise requisite funding since it was established in the aftermath of the Scottish independence referendum.
“A statement posted on the NewsShaft website said: ‘Due to ongoing financial difficulties, the team behind NewsShaft have announced that the new media outlet will be forced to close by mid October.'”

AN Edinburgh-based creative communications agency has been named among the winners at an awards ceremony celebrating the best of internal communication.
The IoIC Awards are run by the Institute of Internal Communication.
And 20/20 Productions was named a winner of an award for excellence – in the category, Best Video (DVD/Webcast/TV).
The IoIC Awards are predominantly for specific projects, initiatives and campaigns.They differ from the institute’s ICon Awards – being handed out on the 12th of next month – which are more about the achievements, skills, contribution of specific individuals and teams.
